Daystar: Providing quality products and services
The Daystar Group was founded in 1994 by Michael Soler, who had been the director responsible for new business development within the Gasan Group up until that point. Mr Soler has since retained a non-executive role at Gasan while developing Daystar. He has focused on the core sectors of property development and tourism, the two fields of expertise he had been building since the 1980s.
Since then, the Daystar Group has been involved in the refurbishment and operation of the Primera Hotel in Bugibba (1996) and added the Galaxy Hotel and Vacation Club in Sliema to its portfolio (1999). When these businesses were sold in the mid 2000s, the funds were redirected into further property acquisition for the Group.
Over the years the Daystar Group’s portfolio of properties included a refurbished and converted 19th century palazzo in Valletta, a villa development in San Pawl tat Targa, and a 20-unit residence in Swieqi.
To this day, the vision of a property base that guarantees sustainable future income is the Group’s policy.
Sound foundations for a solid future
The Daystar Group comprises two main holding companies, Daystar Group Ltd and Daystar Holdings Ltd. The Group’s main operations are presided over by Daystar Holdings, while Daystar Group Limited provides investment and management services to all of our companies throughout their various sectors.
We believe in our employees and their expertise, and for that reason it is our policy to train and develop the number of people who work for us. As the Daystar Group operates across different business sectors, a trained workforce allows us to maximise flexibility and respond quickly and effectively to the ever-evolving requirements of the international marketplace.
The Daystar Group is successfully run by experienced father-son team, Michael and John Soler, who are both directors of the company. With extensive experience across their sectors of operation, each brings plenty of expertise to the table. While the Daystar Group operates efficiently through flexibility, both directors have quite defined roles. Michael Soler is the Group’s Executive Chairman, while John Soler an Executive Director focuses on Operatons.
